Why we don’t use sugar in Barniki Nut Bars

Sugar is one of the most important and widely used ingredients in food formulations. However, much research has shown that despite the many technological benefits, the use of sugar has some disadvantages.

Regular consumption of sugar increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and increases the risk of fatty liver. Sugar also increases the body’s resistance to insulin and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Sugar over consumption is one of the most important causes of obesity in adults and children. In addition to all this, sugar releases dopamine in the brain and has addictive properties!

That is why we have not used sugar in any way in the production of Barniki products. The sweetness of our nut bars is derived from low-temperature processed honey and a small amount of non-GMO wheat glucose.
